    Default Communal Authority Site

    Hi to you all.

The topic might be a bit misleading but I have the following project in mind.

I will buy a domain that is aged and has a few hundred pages indexed page rank and start posting unique content. It is most likely going to be a "news" (maybe, maybe not) site so the posts are not going to be long but unique and frequent.

The goal is to get a handful of authors there - 10-20 to start with. Guys who know the name of the game without me having to explain it here. Anyone participating who is willing to return the favor - get the domain and build the site I am willing to join your website give you content in exchage of some day getting an authority site we can all use for our projects. If you think you qualify for this relatively long term project to create a bad-ass source for high quality backlinks for a number of people, send me e-mail and tell me what you can bring to the table with you. When it starts to roll we can even try to find a way to monetize it and split the income.

I've been tossing up something similar -- a sort of multiple author website/blog or directory. It's been something i've been thinking about for 2 months -- I'll talk something about it on my blog next post.

These types of sites seem to be popping up all over the place now -- and this is good for us IM'er in general. There is room for many of these sites. THe more IP's you can use for backlinks, the better.

I managed to get a pr3 domain with 1k backlinks in yahoo and about 60 pages indexed in google for this project. I am sensing it will be a good site
Although it is from an auction so I can't know if the owner wants it back in the next two weeks.

Guys, mine is going okay but I was wondering, how would you implement an ad share?

I cannot for the life of me find out how to easily give a split of the adsense for peoples individual content. I want people to be able to earn from their individual content but cannot find out how to do it. I preferably want a plugin as my coding is about zero. Any help would be appreciated. I am sure this would get more people adding more regular content and giving their articles more backlinks.

How about ad blocks within posts?

I've not put anything up on olive yet but it's got nothing to do with lack of revenue sharing. I see these authority sites are ready made 2nd level support sites. You get my content and I get to link to my own money sites.

Of course for the links to be worth more linking to olive, as you mention, is of prime importance.

I think there is a plugin for this for wordpress.. At least I think I have seen it somewhere.

This would also be a good idea - the owner of the site could integrate his ads to the template -> get one in the sidebar and on some other place, and the author could paste his ad code just above his text..

It's probably the word "share" that is throwing you off for a solution. All you have to do is have your ads up 50% of the time and 50% for the submitter's ads. Or whatever precentage you want.

If it is wordpress than I'm sure you can find a plugin for it. If it is your own site, you'd have to program it in. Assuming you're using a database, all you really have to do is add a binary column. So each time content is viewed, the binary column should switch between 1 and 0. If it is zero, you put your ads up. If it is 1, you put up the author's ads.

Thanks for the comments guys. I looked for a plugin because it is run on wordpress but all I could find were plugins that share the revenue of the whole site equally between contributors which is no good.

I wanted something that would simply rotate ads on each individuals content.

If anyone can find a plugin or tell me exactly how to do it I will be grateful.

I will then implement a 60% 40% split in all contributors favor if I can set it up like that.
