Default How Many Words Per Supporting Article?

On ezine, I usually write >300 words with 1 or 2 links. On infobarrel, I usually write >400 words with 1 or 2 links.

The reason I do this is because Ben, on his blog, recommended people to use ezine for putting spammy 250 articles on, but not infobarrel.

But I was wondering if it's actually necessary to make every article >400. So I just wanted to ask you guys how many words you write?

For all I know, 250 words is already enough to send link juice.

The fact is... I don't know for sure.

So especially to those of you who already have hundreds or thousands of articles out there... please chime in and give me your thoughts.

Nothing will send you link juice unless its indexed. On EZA my crappy 250 word articles get indexed - elsewhere they don't - it depends on the site.

I acutally am going more and to 400+ words with one link

Using only one link makes it easier to edit. Do you deeplink to your posts or your frontpage?

Another issue that keeps me awake at night:

Currently, I set up new sites with 5 posts each.

Then I write 5 posts on ezines, 5 posts on infobarrels, 5 posts on hubpages to promote that stuff.

That's 20 articles per unit of "money site + support pages". 5 For the site itself. 15 For the supporting pages.

Is this the most efficient way of promoting your stuff?

Or is it better to write, say, 5 posts per money site and 5 articles on 5 different article sites?

I generally write 250-300 words per article, to be safe. But it depends on the topic too. I try to make sure that the articles are concise and straight to the point so the readers go through the entire article.

When I actually start righting, the words usually just kind of flow, so I end up going 500-700 or so and having to shorten it. But I have a few 350-400 word articles out there that seem to be doing well.

Just to ad to the confusion.

I have had good results with those little backlink monthly packages. 30 to 50 sites with 3 or 4 links on an inner page with no article at all, just backlinks.

It works really well. Just thought I would confuse you a bit!

Really, end of the day it should be like this, although I am guilty of not following my own advice.

Links from long articles, short articles, 1 link in a post, 3 links in a post, links on forums, inner pages of high pr sites, keyword anchored links, crap not anchored links, blogrolls, a click here link, just mix it up and you will rank.

The more content you have on a site the easier it is to rank for whatever you write, and that is a FACT. Says the expert (not).

You should be a little nicer to yourself, Dave.

Although I must confess that humility & modesty looks good on sucessful people.
