Default Need clean Seo'ed themes for my IM blogs

You may call me a theme junkie but I want to have good clean theme for my money making themes and I do not want the same SEO themes as there are in the Courts library as they are well used in alot of places.

The challenge with me is that I am not a techie at all and Of course would like to know if there are some ready made ones.

Justin over at SEOZombie has a few (emphasis is on ugly to score clicks):

You will also want to check Frank's SEO themes out. They are pretty "clean". Here are a couple posts talking about his pages:

And here are some adsense optimized themes -- though some of them are not exactly SEO'ed:

Something else you may want to consider is to purchase Thesis and modify it for adsense. Thesis is very SEO friendly. The basic theme is pretty plain, if you turn off all the features, and with a bit of modification, you can optimize it for adsense. Will cost you about 160 or so bucks for the developer license though. Hacking a premium theme like Thesis is probably the best long term thing to do -- it's what I do for mine.

I'm also tossing up the idea of pumping out a few of my own SEO/Adsense themes for download here -- we'll see if i have time.

    Ben

is there anything we need to do to these themes so they aren't associated with any other blogs? I know ben was talking something about template foot prints?

The number one thing to do is remove the footer link -- that leaves a trace a mile away. You may also want to fuck around with the CSS a bit, change color some of the variable names etc.

However, if you take out the footer link, make sure you send a few solid anchor links back to the creator. Remember, you are "paying" for these themes with a backlink to the website/person who created the themes.

I don't mind removing footer links as long as I give a few solid links back in return (much more juice than a footer link btw).

You'll have to ask one of the coders like Frank for more info about this though -- I'm lazy when it comes to coding/CSS/HTML, though I have a Computer Science degree.

As for removing the footer link on my themes, I don't say you can't do it. But, if you leave it in and followed, I just might do some free link building for your site when I notice the backlink.

Avoid themes with encoded footer links that you can't change easily. Often they point to 'male enhancement' or other undesirable sites.

From what I've seen Google doesn't seem to care too much about the WordPress theme you use. I haven't seen any evidence of them targeting a specific theme, even heavily used ones like Prosense. This doesn't mean that they won't at some point, but they seem to be more concerned about the quality/relevance of your content than anything else.
